Peggy Falk will present a talk titled “The Dalys and the Store They Built” on March 7 at 1 p.m. in the first-floor conference room of the Humboldt County Library, 1313 Third St., Eureka. The lecture is part of the ongoing lecture series sponsored by Humboldt County Historical Society. Admission is free, and everyone is invited.

Falk is the granddaughter of John F. Daly, one of the founders of Daly’s Department Store. She has researched her family history for many years, including traveling to the original home of the Dalys in Ireland to meet her Daly cousins.

Her presentation will focus on the Daly family and the 100-year history of Daly’s Department Store. The presentation will cover the store’s origin in 1895, its growth and the history of the Daly family in Eureka.
