Strong wind and heavy rain has left Humboldt County dealing with flooding, snow-covered roads and power outages.

Humboldt County reported conditions on the following roads:

  • Alderpoint Road: Advise to carry chains.
  • Shelter Cove Road: Carry chains.
  • Briceland Road: Carry chains.
  • Redwood Drive between Dean Creek and Willow: Currently closed.
  • Eel River Drive at Hookton Road: Closed due to flooding.
  • Cannibal Island Road: Flooded.
  • Howard Heights: Flooded.
  • Meridian Road at post mile marker 0.80: Closed due to flooding.
  • Mattole Road, Wild Cat, and Bear River Ridge Road: Carry chains.

For motorists, the National Weather Service and Caltrans are recommending people check QuickMap before heading out.

As of 10:45, PG&E was reporting hundreds of people without power across the county, predominantly in southern and eastern areas of Humboldt County.
