The body found on Waterfront Drive in Eureka was identified as Donald Klock III, 59, according to the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office.

An autopsy was performed Jan. 8, said Samantha Karges, a spokesperson for the sheriff’s office in an email.

“A cause of death is still pending the finalization of the Coroner’s report, however, there were no signs of trauma or foul play,” Karges said.

She said Klock was believed to be a transient.

The body was found on Jan. 7 in the 1600 block of Waterfront Drive, Eureka Police Department spokesperson Brittany Powell said in an email Monday.

“There was no sign of foul play or criminal act and the Coroner responded and took over the investigation,” she added.
