Fortuna man accused of DUI in head-on collision that hospitalized two including a 16-year-old driver

The following is a press release from the California Highway Patrol:

11/30/2019, at approximately 430 PM, the Humboldt Area CHP was notified of a head-on collision, involving two vehicles, on Rohnerville Road at the bottom of Wolverton Gulch, near Puddin Lane. Upon arrival officers determined that a 2012 Chevrolet Volt, driven by 59 year old Kenneth Ambrosini of Fortuna, was traveling southbound on Rohnerville Rd., south of Puddin Lane, when it crossed over into the northbound lane. The Volt collided head-on with a 2013 Hyundai Elantra, driven by 16 year old Teala Farfan of Fortuna, causing major injuries to Ms. Farfan. Mr. Ambrosini’s passenger, 31 year old Adrian Olsen of Fortuna, also suffered major injuries as a result of the collision. Mr. Olsen and Ms. Farfan were each transported by City Ambulance to St. Joseph Hospital for treatment of their injuries. Mr. Ambrosini, who suffered minor injuries in the collision, was subsequently determined to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision and was arrested on felony DUI charges. After receiving treatment for his injuries, Mr. Abrosini was transported and booked at the Humboldt County Jail.
