The first mini storage facility in Fortuna, established in the late 1970s, now has new owners and a new look. To celebrate, the Fortuna Chamber of Commerce recently held a ribbon cutting at Sunrise Mini Storage, located at 1799 Smith Lane.

The new owners are Brad McHenry and Tina Conti, who purchased the business in April.

Since then, the two have been remodeling the mini storage property. Siding has been replaced, swinging doors have been replaced with four-foot metal roll-up doors, lighting has been improved and there is new exterior paint.

“This business has given an exciting face lift to the neighborhood,” Conti said.

The new owners expressed their appreciation to several local businesses who assisted in remodeling the facility. Those include Mark Vellis Construction, Forbusco Lumber, PPG Paints, Rust Painting, Fortuna Signs, and Eureka Overhead Doors.

Sunrise Mini Storage will be managed by Six Rivers Property Management.

The business features 60 storage units of four sizes: seven foot by seven foot, nine foot by 10 foot, nine foot by 12 foot, and nine foot by 22 foot.

All storage units are on the ground floor and have vehicular access.
