The following is a press release from the California Highway Patrol:

A woman died early Friday morning after the semitruck she was driving overturned near Garberville, according to a release from the California Highway Patrol.

The unidentified woman was driving south on U.S. 101 north of Woodruff Road when her 2010 Kenworth semitruck, which was hauling lumber on a flat bed trailer, veered off the west side of the road, going over an embankment, overturning and coming to rest on its roof along the east river bank, according to the release.

The semitruck was discovered around 8 a.m. by Caltrans when the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Alcohol and drugs did not appear to be a factor in the collision, which is being investigated by CHP.
