The China Buffet on Fourth Street in Eureka that was closed following a health inspection last month is cleared to reopen, the Humboldt County Department of Health and Human Services said Tuesday evening.

During the initial inspections, live cockroaches were found in the facility. That has been addressed, the DHHS said.

“Pest control was on site to perform an assessment on 9/5/19, first treatment administered 9/9/19,” the inspection report states. “Pest control treatments will continue each Tuesday of every week for the next two weeks, then will continue monthly.”

Other violations the establishment was cited for have been rectified, the DHHS noted.

“The violations observed 8/29/19 and 8/30/19 have been addressed to where the immediate risk to health and safety has been eliminated,” the inspection report stated.
