Christ Episcopal Church in Eureka will hold this summer’s final “Sundays at 4” concert on Sunday at 4 p.m.

“Hymns from the Heart,” an old-fashioned hymn sing, will feature the audience as the performers. Over the past few weeks, parishioners and visitors to Christ Church have had an opportunity to put their favorite hymn (or two or more) into a hatbox. Hymns were drawn from the box to determine those that will be sung and a list was compiled of all of the hymn suggestions.

As everyone sings hymns — accompanied by organ and piano — on the list, a few “fun facts” about some of the hymns will be provided. A broad variety of hymns will be featured, from different denominations and seasons of the year. (Yes, there will be a couple of Christmas carols.) The hymns represent not just favorites, but songs of praise that have inspired individuals in many ways throughout time — from “The Old Rugged Cross” to “Lift Every Voice and Sing.”

This “concert” is free and open to the public. Donations are welcome and will be used to support future concerts.

The church is located at 1428 H St. in Eureka. Off-street parking is available at the corner of 14th and G streets. An accessible ramp is located on 15th Street, between G and H streets, leading to an entrance through the parish hall.
