News release from the Humboldt County Drug Task Force:
On Monday afternoon at approximately 3 p.m., Special Agents with the Humboldt County Drug Task Force, with the assistance of the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, served a search warrant at a residence located in the 5100 block of Walnut Drive, Eureka.
During their multi-week investigation, agents received information that the resident, Maria Salas Camacho 53, is distributing large amounts of methamphetamine throughout Humboldt County. Camacho’s associate, Richard Dean Langdon, 62, is also believed to be involved in Camacho’s operation.
Upon arrival, agents learned that Camacho and Langdon were not on scene and had left prior to the warrant being served. Agents located a trailer on the property that appeared to serve as a weigh station for methamphetamine distribution.
This location was monitored via remote surveillance system. Inside the trailer agents located several digital scales, packaging material, and other items associated with methamphetamine distribution. Agents continued their search and located approximately a half-pound of suspected methamphetamine buried on the property.
In addition, agents located illegally possessed prescription narcotics and ammunition. Both Camacho and Langdon are previously convicted felons who are prohibited from possessing ammunition.
Agents have since secured a Ramey Warrant through the Humboldt County Superior Court for Camacho and Langdon. The charges on the warrant include possession of controlled substances for sales and illegal possession of ammunition.
