HEARD IT ON THE STREET: What is your favorite nature spot in Humboldt County?

PUBLISHED: | UPDATED:
Ana Rodriguez, Bayside: My favorite is the Requa lookout, near the mouth of the Klamath River. When you get to the old inn there, it’s beautiful. (Shomik Mukherjee — The Times-Standard)
Shakira Reyes, Sunny Brae: I like Strawberry Rock out by Trinidad. It’s really cool, like a long trail. When you get up to the top, it looks like an ocean of trees. (Shomik Mukherjee — The Times-Standard)
Wendy Buchanan, Bayside: I have to say King Salmon beach. It loves dogs. I take my dog there. All the dogs get along because they’re familiar with each other. (Shomik Mukherjee — The Times-Standard)
Dorlean Muska, Eureka: I like going down by the pier (in Eureka). I go down there by the water; I like the nature and the birds. It gets a little bit windy down there, but it’s alright. (Shomik Mukherjee — The Times-Standard)
Sarah Woods, Fortuna: The Trinidad (beach) is my favorite, especially Patricks Point. I like hiking there. I try to go once a month and take my kids camping.(Shomik Mukherjee — The Times-Standard)
