The Humboldt Eagles 19-U picked up a pair of convincing victories on the road against Red Bluff on Saturday.

Game 1 saw the Eagles win 9-0 on the back of a complete-game, two-hit shutout from pitcher Cameron Saso. The soon-to-be McKinleyville High senior also struck out eight in the win and at the plate, went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. JB Lewis, out of College of the Redwoods, sent a three-run homer over the fence to supply the Eagles with a third of their runs in the win while both Cody Emmons and Dustin Ireland garnered three hits a piece in the win.

Game 2, a 9-1 win for the Eagles, featured 2019 St. Bernard’s graduate Caleb Ruiz on the mound. Ruiz tossed a complete-game one-hitter while striking out 11 in the win.

Saso had two doubles and two RBIs in the game 2 win. Ireland went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and Kalebh Hill, 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Brady Munson also got in on the action, going 1-for-1 — the lone hit being a 2RBI double.

The Eagles improved to 8-2 on the year with Saturday’s wins. Next up, the Eagles will head to Reno on Sunday for a doubleheader against Galena.
