There’s a new place for fun in the Eel River Valley. The Bear River Family Entertainment Center is now open seven days a week, offering bowling, an arcade, laser tag and more.

A grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony was held May 24.

“The Bear River Family Entertainment Center is the North Coast’s premier family entertainment destination,” said Scott Noggle, director of the new facility. “Our facility houses a state-of-the-art entertainment package, giving every visitor something to watch and listen to during their visit.”

There is a two-level laser tag area at the center, the only laser tag option in Humboldt County. It uses a LaserTron system that allows for multiple game formats, and the cost to players is $5.99 per “mission.”

Ten lanes of bowling await visitors to the entertainment center, and one game of bowling costs $5.

“Our facility is even more exciting on weekend nights,” Noggle said, “as we host the best cosmic bowling experience in Humboldt County. Visitors can rock out to the booming sound system as they enjoy music videos projected right above the lanes and a light show all around.”

Cosmic bowling is held Friday, Saturday and Sunday, after 10 p.m. He added that food service is provided all the way to the lanes, so guests can lounge, eat, drink and bowl, all at the same time.

Other new attractions include 38 new arcade games, a pool table, shuffleboard and a food and beverage counter featuring pizza, burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, beer and wine, soda and bottled water. There is both indoor and outdoor seating.

The Entertainment Center also has the capability to host birthday parties and corporate gatherings.

Noggle added it’s “designed for family enjoyment.”

The Bear River Family Entertainment Center is located at 263 Keisner Road, across from the Bear River Casino and Hotel. Hours are Monday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Friday 11 a.m. to 1 a.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 1 a.m., and Sunday 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
