Imprison traitor Huffman for treason against Trump
In reading the headline of your paper today (“Huffman echoes calls for inquiries,” Times-Standard, Page A1, May 24), I got sick to my stomach by reading the traitorous comments by the “so-called” Rep. Huffman, who’s supposed to be representing us here on the North Coast. Instead he’s committing TREASON by going after our duly elected president, President Donald Trump. For me, as a voter and a long time resident of Humboldt County and the Eel River Valley, I take great exception to his bull and as he should be trying to get legislation to fix our roads, businesses and other vital interests, he’s out trying to become another Nathan Hale for many years before and we know what happened to Mr. Hale.
We need to start a movement to impeach so-called Mr. Huffman and replace him with a person who has some brains instead of mush or a cranium of nothing but hot air. He is acting in a traitorous way by NOT REPRESENTING THE PEOPLE WHO PUT HIM INTO OFFICE and by not helping us solve the problems here on the North Coast. I believe that he needs to be IMPEACHED HIMSELF and put into prison. I would gladly sponsor that idea. Don’t love traitors like him.I will make copies of this email to you to post on some of my Facebook sites to let hundreds more of our North Coast families know about his treasonous ways.Thank you (and I don’t expect this to be published, so that’s why I will put it on my Facebook sites.)

KMUD DJ says sayonara, thanks staff, listeners
For 11 years, on the first and third Saturdays, I hosted the “What It Is” music show on KMUD, and I regret having to announce the show’s finale, and my departure from this slice of heaven in the 707. Austin beckons.
I’d like to thank the staff and volunteers at KMUD for so much love, inspiration and support, as well as the many listeners who not only phoned in their requests, but made the donations that over the years helped keep the Mud viable, vibrant, and vigorous.
Please visit KMUD’s broadcasting tent and Coffee Booth during the Summer Arts and Music Festival (Benbow, June 1-2), and tune in for my final broadcast (June 15, at 2 p.m.). I trust you will join me in continuing to financially support the Mud: an immeasurably valuable bastion of non-corporate, locally produced news, music and talk. Viva People-Powered Radio!

Betty Chinn Foundation thanks Ted Sheets for gift
Thank you for the media coverage of Betty Chinn’s new truck ribbon cutting ceremony. Betty was so thrilled and overwhelmed with the roll out of the new vehicle, that she momentarily forgot the name of the graphic artist when asked by your reporter. Ted Sheets of Advanced Display & Signs generously donated all of the labor and materials for the quality graphic designs and lettering on the new truck, and it is important to Betty that his generosity be properly and publicly recognized. Thank you for allowing us to do so, and thank you to all who played a role in assuring Betty has the transportation necessary to continue her outreach services.

Where is my Medicare premium, Matthew Owen?
I just love the fact that after so many disgruntled people finally got the Times Standard to quit publishing Tim Martin’s column in the Sunday paper (plagiarism, I think was the reason the editor gave) that we now get to read “Matthew in the Middle.” I don’t quite get the middle part yet but so far he seems to fit in with the liberal views of the paper. I love the fact that he says he pays for my Medicare “socialized health care” he calls it. I worked all my life and paid into Social Security and at the age of 65 was eligible for Medicare. It is paid for out of my monthly Social Security benefit in the sum of $135.50. That amount varies for each individual. I also have to pay an additional premium for prescription coverage. That also varies depending on your personal needs. Now Medicaid might be a different thing because you obviously did not have to work to get the coverage. So, my question to “Matthew in the Middle”: If you are paying for my Medicare coverage, should I expect a check from you each month to reimburse me for my health care premium? I also resent being called the “Ven-ez-u-ela of America.” I worked for my benefits unlike the socialists who think the country owes them everything for nothing.
