The Humboldt Folklife Society will host a St. Patrick’s Day barn dance and ceilidh Friday at the Arcata Veterans Hall, 1425 St.

Celtic music will be played by Covered with Moss and the caller will be Summer McCall. Doors open at 6 p.m. and instructed dancing is from 7 to 10 p.m.

A ceilidh is a social event with Scottish or Irish folk music and singing, traditional dancing, and storytelling.

The cost to attend is $5 for Humboldt Folklife Society members, students and seniors; $10 general admission; and free for children under 12.

No experience or partner is needed, and all ages are welcome. Beer, cider and non-alcoholic beverages and snacks will be available.
