Registration will soon be underway for the spring session of the McKinleyville Community Choir.

Anyone who enjoys singing and can carry a tune is invited to sing with the choir. There are no try-outs and participants don’t have to be able to read music. Members come from all around the county.

Registration starts Monday and continues for the next two Mondays, Feb. 4 and 11. There is a $50 participation fee, but scholarships and grants are available on a sliding scale.

A wide variety of songs are scheduled for the season. After weeks of practice and preparation, there are usually at least three public performances in June.

Instrumentalists, other than keyboard, are also invited to participate and start at a later date. If interested, call Jon Reisdorf, this season’s director, at 707-822-4595.

The group meets at the Grace Good Shepherd Church, 1450 Hiller Road in McKinleyville on Mondays, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., with off-street parking available. There are some carpools. Call Clare Greene, choir manager, at 1-831-419-3247 for carpool information.

The choir is open for all parts and especially needs baritones and basses. High school students are also welcome.
