Karina Zumbrun signed a letter of intent to play collegiate soccer at the University of Redlands, Thursday afternoon at the Arcata High library.
“She was a force in the middle of the field for us,” Arcata head coach Patrick Stranahan said. “She was an important part of our team.”
Zumbrun lead the Tigers to a 14-8-1 overall record last season and a second-place finish in the North Coast Section playoffs. The soon to be Bulldog led Arcata with 38 goals and 13 assists a season ago, and had the most hat-tricks of any girls soccer player on the North Coast.
Zumbrun will join a Bulldogs soccer team which posted a 9-7-2 overall record a season ago and an 8-4-2 mark in Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play, good enough for fourth place.
