Eureka: Six Rivers Detachment No. 655 of the Marine Corps League will hold its monthly meeting Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Chalet House of Omelets, 1935 Fifth St. All Marines, both veterans and those serving active duty, and their spouses, are invited. There will be a short business meeting followed by a general camaraderie session. A no-host dinner is available. If you are a first-timer to the meeting, the league will pay for your meal.
Willow Creek: The Willow Creek-China Flat Museum will hold its holiday bazaar Thursday through Sunday, and again Dec. 6 to 9, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the museum, 38949 State Route 299. The bazaar includes many handcrafted items.
Eureka: The League of Women Voters of Humboldt County will present a program titled “Why We Should Abolish the Electoral College” Thursday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Humboldt County Office of Education, 901 Myrtle Ave.

Eureka: The 38th annual Humboldt Artisans Crafts and Music Festival will be held Friday through Sunday at Redwood Acres, 3750 Harris St. The event is free for kids and seniors, free with a toy for the Humboldt Bay Fire Department toy drive and free after 5 p.m. General admission is $3. Hours are Friday from noon to 9 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m
Arcata: The Redwood Region Audubon Society is sponsoring a free public field trip at the Arcata Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary on Saturday. Bring binoculars for birding and meet leader Michael Morris in the parking lot at the end of South I Street (Klopp Lake) in Arcata at 8:30 a.m., rain or shine. The trip ends around 11 a.m.
Music for kids
Eureka: A free introductory Music Together class will be offered Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Morris Graves Museum of Art, 636 F St. Teachers Jose Quezada and Heather Shelton will guide children and their families in song, dance and music making. Music Together, based in Princeton, New Jersey, is an internationally recognized early childhood music program for babies, toddlers, preschoolers, kindergarteners and the adults who love them. North Coast Music Together classes are based on the recognition that all children are musical. All children can learn to sing in tune, keep a beat and participate with confidence in music. Eureka: Mini Masters will be offered at noon Saturday at the Morris Graves Museum of Art, 636 F St. This monthly workshop includes story time, tours of current exhibits, literacy games and art activities, and is designed for families of children ages 2 to 8, though all ages are welcome. This month will feature books by Herve Tullett including “Let’s Play” and “Press Here.” Families will also have the opportunity to contribute to a collaborative abstract mural, paint with magnets, create an accordion book or make colorful ornaments.
