The Humboldt Bay Mycological Society will hold its 40th annual “Mushroom Fair” in a new location this year.
Learn more about the fascinating fungi growing in Northern California by attending the Mushroom Fair from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 18 in the Arcata Community Center, 321 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway in Arcata. This fair offers folks to chance to learn about edible and toxic fungi, mushrooms used for dyeing wool and mushroom ecology. There will also be mushroom cultivation kits, mushroom books and T shirts for sale.
Admission to the fair is $5 for adults and kids over 16, $1 for children ages 12 to 16 and free for children under age 12. The public is encouraged to bring mushrooms they would like to have identified.
