On Monday at 9:17 p.m., Humboldt Bay Fire responded with three engines, onetruck and one chief officer to a reported commercial structure fire at 3900Broadway St. The first arriving engine reported an exterior fire that wasextending into the building. Firefighters had to force entry into the buildingthrough a chain link fence and large sliding doors to gain access to the interior ofthe building. The fire was controlled in 20 minutes and damage is estimated at$10,000. There were no firefighter or civilian injuries and crews remained onscene for approximately 90 minutes. The cause of the fire is underinvestigation. Humboldt Bay Fire received mutual aid from Arcata Fire District, Samoa-Peninsula Fire District, Humboldt County Sheriffs Office, Eureka Police Department, City Ambulance and PG&E.
