I am writing to thank the consumers in Humboldt County for your support.

Our small rural, all volunteer fire company has been able to greatly improve our ability to respond to medical and fire emergencies due to new and modern gear purchased with funds from Measure Z.

We used to respond in a 33-year-old fire engine wearing mismatched hand-me-down turnout gear.

We now have new wildland and structure gear, new state of the art breathing apparatus (SCBAs), and a much more modern and effective fire engine.

Many rural volunteer fire departments in Humboldt County have benefited as we have.

Measure Z funds used to improve fire service in Humboldt County has all gone to new gear and necessary equipment; none have been spent on salaries.

We still have many other needs, like communication equipment and better training facilities.

We are volunteers who need your help to be able to serve you.

Please vote yes on Measure O.

Remember that Measure O does not increase taxes in any way, it just continues an existing one.

Thanks again for supporting your local volunteer fire department.
