Fourteen local musicians will perform to help Bayside Community Hall’s race to raise funds for a new roof before the heavy rains hit this winter. The hall’s Fall Kitchen Concert Series includes three evening performances of popular local bands:
This Friday, LaPatinas’ Brian Powell, Knick, Jim Hachimonji, Neil McLaughlin and Jeff DeMark will play their high-spirited original country, rock, soul, pop, folk and R&B music with DeMark’s contemporary storytelling.
On Oct. 26, Off Campus, the Jacoby Creek School teachers’ band of Tommy Fitzmaurice, Kirk Goddard, Sarah McDowall, Joel Fonner and Nick Dedini, will play a fun mix of folk rock and rock music.
On Nov. 10, That Buckin String Band of Patrick Cleary, Cat Koshkin, Tracy Symons Smith and Steve Smith will perform original folk/country songs and unusual covers featuring harmony vocals.
All three concerts will be in the hall dining area transformed into a café-style venue with doors open at 6:30 p.m. and music from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Desserts and drinks will be available.
“We are so grateful to our local music community and business sponsors for supporting Bayside’s historic community hall restoration. Besides the urgently needed new roof, these kitchen concerts will raise funds to upgrade the kitchen,” said Greta Montagne, chair of the hall’s Building Committee. “The roof and ongoing restoration will ensure that our 76-year-old hall will be here for future generations to enjoy.”
