McKinleyville: The Church of the Joyful Healer, 1444 Central Ave., will present a free two-week “Series on Aging” from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 25 and Nov. 1. On Oc.t 25, information about Social Security, Medicare and avoiding scams will be presented by a representative of the Area 1 Agency on Aging. The Petrusha Law firm will also share information on wills and estate planning. On Nov. 1, Redwood Coast Village, Humboldt Senior Resource Center, McKinleyville Senior Center, Redwood Community Action Agency, Mad River Adult Day Care, PG&E and Redwood Coast EnergyAuthority will share assistance resources for seniors to remain in their homes. Eureka: First Church of Christ Scientist of Eureka and Christian Science Society of Arcata will present a lecture, “Experiencing Heaven Now,” Oct. 28 at 1 p.m. at the Wharfinger Building, 1 Marina Way. The presenter will be Mary Bothwell, a member of the Christian Science Board of Lectureship and a Christian Science practitioner from Pasadena.
