Peninsula Union School students and community members walk in the recently completed mindfulness labyrinth after it was unveiled Thursday with a ribbon cutting.

The labyrinth idea came about last year, as part of a yearlong mindfulness theme, where students and staff engaged in restorative justice practices and learned about social justice and equity issues.

“Our hope is that this labyrinth will create a space for students to practice mindfulness and self-regulation,” said Lark Doolan, the school’s superintendent and principal. €”Our hope is that it is a place of reflection for our students but also an open space that our community can enjoy during evenings and weekends when school isn’t in session.”
