The Redwood Caregiver Resource Center, in partnership with Adult Day Health and Alzheimer’s Services, will present a program, “Managing Caregiver Stress,” Sept. 29 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Adult Day Health and Alzheimer’s Services Library, 1901-B California St. in Eureka.

Registration starts at 8:30 a.m.

The program is being facilitated by Alexis Glidewell, licensed clinical social worker with the Department of Geriatric Medicine, Kaiser Permanente Family Consultant, Redwood Caregiver Resource Center.

Family caregivers will learn how to identify triggers for challenging emotions; understand ambiguous loss and anticipatory grief; and develop strategies for coping.

The suggested donation of $20 can be paid at the door, with checks made out to Redwood CRC. Participants will have the choice of bringing their lunches to the class or purchasing lunch for an additional $5, payable the day of the event.

The Redwood Caregiver Resource Center will provide grants for respite care for family caregivers who need it in order to attend.  Requests for respite must be made by Sept. 19.
