BRISBANE, Calif. (AP) _ Cutera Inc. (CUTR) on Tuesday reported a second-quarter loss of $1.6 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.

On a per-share basis, the Brisbane, California-based company said it had a loss of 11 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs and stock option expense, were 12 cents per share.

The maker of laser skin treatments posted revenue of $42.6 million in the period.

Cutera expects full-year earnings in the range of 50 cents to 60 cents per share, with revenue in the range of $178 million to $181 million.

Cutera shares have fallen 10 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $40.80, a rise of 53 percent in the last 12 months.
