Two men accused of killing a pair of cousins in Oakland in 2011 pleaded not guilty Monday.
Kyle Puckett, 26, and Dashawn Rico, 22, were charged in March with two counts of special circumstance murder in the Oct. 15, 2011, fatal shootings of Raymond Greenwood, 20, of Orville, and Joshua Crouseite, 22, of Fairfield.
The cousins were in town for a baby shower for Greenwood”s fiancee when the defendants killed them during a robbery attempt in the courtyard of an East Oakland apartment complex in the 1300 block of MacArthur Boulevard, according to police.
A preliminary hearing for the defendants is scheduled for Oct. 5. They are being jailed without bail.
