Hollywood heartthrob John Stamos rested at home over the weekend after making international headlines for his DUI arrest in Beverly Hills Friday night.

Beverly Hills police received several calls at about 7:45 p.m. Friday of a silver Mercedes driving erratically, BBC, TMZ, CNN and hundreds of other news outlets reported.

Stamos, the one person in the Mercedes, apparently was “so out of it,” police handcuffed him and had paramedics transport him to a hospital for what was described as a medical condition, TMZ said.

Once there, police determined he was under the influence, issued a misdemeanor citation and released him to the custody of the hospital.

Via Twitter, Stamos issued a message to fans indicating he was back home: “Thanks to everyone for their love & support. I”m home & well. Very appreciative of the BHPD & Cedars for their care.”

Stamos is set to appear in court September 11. Penalties for first-time DUI convictions can include suspension of one”s driving privilege, up to a $1,000 fine and other penalties and six months in jail.

Stamos has been a Hollywood mainstay since 1982 when he starred in “General Hospital.”

He became a household name as Uncle Jessie on “Full House,” alongside the Olsen twins and Bob Saget.

He is currently producing and will star in a 13-episode Netflix reboot of “Full House,” called “Fuller House,” due out next year. He also is signed to headline Fox”s Grandfathered.”
