After dropping hints of a return to the stage, Janet Jackson announced Monday she”s launching her new Unbreakable World Tour later this summer.
The “Together Again” singer, 49, kicks off a schedule of North America concerts Aug. 31 in Vancouver, B.C. She performs October 13 and 14 at the Bill Graham Auditorium in San Francisco, her website says.
Unbreakable marks her first tour since 2011. News accounts say she”s enjoyed a few quiet years off to get married, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Back in May, Janet Jackson teased “new music, new world tour, a new movement” for 2015.
The 49-year-old pop star confirmed earlier this month that her still-untitled 11th studio album will come out this fall. This would be her first album since 2008”s “Disciples” and marks her debut on her new label, BMG subsidiary Rhythm Nation.
Tickets for her tour go on sale June 22. The announced shows only cover North America, but Jackson promises that “additional worldwide concerts will be announced at a later date.”
