Chico High choir needs support to get to New York

Chico High School”s A Cappella Choir has been presented with a wonderful honor and opportunity. Based on the choir”s performance at a San Francisco music competition, the singers have been invited to the Choirs of America Invitational Choir Festival in New York City. Only top choral programs from around the country are invited. This prestigious event includes vocal classes and workshops taught by nationally recognized teachers and culminates in a performance at the world-famous Carnegie Hall. It is difficult to imagine a greater honor and reward for these hard-working students.

For many, it will be their first and perhaps only time in New York and will be a lifelong memory. While the 50-student choir is working diligently to raise funds for the trip, they can”t do it without community support. If you have interest in donating to their cause, please send checks to Chico High School, 901 Esplanade, Chico, CA 95926. Please make checks out to CHS-ASB and reference the choir in the memo line.

Better yet, come enjoy their signing. The choir is performing at 7 p.m. today at the Center for the Arts at Pleasant Valley High School and again at 7 p.m. on Nov. 10 at Chico High. Thank you in advance for supporting these dedicated and talented students.
