The Chico Outlaws surrendered 19 hits, including home runs by Drew Miller and Wilver Perez, and dropped their sixth straight game in blowout fashion 14-6 to the Calgary Vipers on Friday night in Calgary, Alberta.
Calgary jumped on starter Travis Kane (1-1), who was chased before he could finish the fourth inning. The Outlaws had a 2-0 lead on Brian McFall”s single in the first inning, but trailed the rest of the way after Miller”s blast and Jonny Kaplan and Justin Tellam”s RBI singles. Bryan Burke finished off the inning, in which Calgary batted around, with a two-run double.
It was the fifth straight win for the Vipers, while the Outlaws (5-9) stranded 11 runners and have slipped into last place in the North American Baseball League”s North Division.
