CHICO — Police arrested a Chico man early Tuesday morning on suspicion of using a video camera to invade the privacy of his neighbor.

Police are referring to it as a “peeping Tom” case.

At about 5:40 a.m. Tuesday a resident on Amber Way in East Chico suspected someone was looking into his bathroom window.

The resident appeared to leave for work at his normal time, but instead parked nearby and walked back toward his home. He saw a neighbor approach his residence and stand below a bathroom window.

The neighbor then allegedly took out a video camera and held it up to the window, apparently attempting to tape someone in the bathroom or shower.

The resident confronted the neighbor, and with the help of a friend detained the man until police arrived.

Amber Way resident William Louis Inman, 42, was arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct and peeping in windows, then booked and transported to the Butte County Jail in Oroville.
