It’s time for the Community Art Show sponsored by the Mateel Arts Cooperative Gallery. It will be held during the month of March. All artists that are NOT members are urged to submit their artwork. Paintings from all mediums are welcome as well as ceramics, fabric art, jewelry, plus miscellaneous. There is a size limit of 18 x 24 framed for wall art.
Sculpture will be judged on an individual basis. All work will be juried for content and will be rejected if deemed inappropriate for a family gallery. All ages are welcome and there will be a separate category for artists under 18.
Artists can submit their work on Saturday, Feb. 26, or Monday, Feb. 28. The hours of the gallery are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. For the first piece of work, the entry fee is $20. You can submit one more piece for $10. The Co-op will take 40 percent commission on any artwork sold.
The paid entry fee is the base for the prize money the winners will receive. The winners will be determined by the community, voting up to three times for their favorite art piece. The artwork will be displayed from March 1 to March 28. There will be an Open House held on March 4 from 5 to 8 p.m. with refreshments. For further information, call Ralphie Hendrix at 923-3721 or the gallery at 923-4895.
