Junior Girl Scouts from Troop 70553 attended Engineering Day at Humboldt State University on Saturday, January 29. The Society of Women Engineers presented a series of workshops to help young girls understand the work of engineers and how it influences our daily lives. Energy resources, water quality and resources, air quality were just a few areas explored. The girls were given hands on opportunities to work in the various labs including building and testing structures and support.

They learned that, “Engineers are changing the world all the time. They dream up creative practical solutions and work with other smart, inspiring people to invent, design and build things that matter.”
