Traveling to Ferndale on Wednesday the Cubs fell 49-29, the second league defeat at the hands of the Wildcats. Freshman forward Joey Wittlake led all Cubs scorers with 12, followed by sophomore guard David Beebe with 7, Forrest Mitchell with 4, and sophomore center Ismael Lopez and sophomore guard Kyle Caldwell with 3 points each.

On Friday night the Cubs made the long journey to Point Arena where they spoiled the home side’s fun with a one-point squeaker 44-43. They had seen Pount Arena in the season’s opening tournament in Potter Valley and had won by only three points on that occasion back in December. The Cubs had a strong 4th quarter, overcoming a 7-point deficit to pull out the win. Wittlake led the way, scoring 16 points, followed by sophomore forward Damian Alatorre with 8, Beebe with 7, Jesus Lopez with 5, and Mitchell and sophomore guard Levi Paine with 4 apiece.

With barely enough time to drive home and sleep, the Cubs were on the court again within 24 hours, this time at home against Hoopa, who had beaten them in Hoopa 66-53.
This time Beebe was having none of it, and led his team with fiery drives, aggressive rebounding, and an intensity Hoopa had no answer for. The game stayed tight for the first half, but South Fork scored 40 points in the second half to run away with a 70-57 final score. Top scorer and big man underneath was Wittlake with 23 points. Beebe had 20 with 2 three-pointers and was a perfect 6 of 6 from the line. Paine had 13 points, Mitchell had 6, Alatorre had 3, and Ismael Lopez and freshman guard brother Jesus Lopez each had a bucket.
