CHICO — People can take their antique and vintage treasures to be appraised during Grandma”s Attic Antique Appraisal Faire on Feb. 20 at Chico Women”s Club, 592 E. Third St.

The fair, a fundraising project of the Chico chapter of the American Association of University Women, will go 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

There will be 10 appraisers giving their opinions as to value and their knowledge about the items presented by the public.

For $6 per item, people may bring china, quilts, jewelry, clocks, artwork, glass, toys, antique weaponry, stamps, books, dolls and other items for appraisal. For furniture or larger pieces, it is suggested people bring photos and measurements. Groups, such as a matching necklace, bracelet and earrings or a set of china will be considered as one.

Visitors may purchase home-baked goods or individual snacks while waiting to see an appraiser; coffee and tea will be complementary. There will be a chance to win a small, artistically designed and handcrafted table by local woodworker, Jeff Rasmussen.

Proceeds from the fair will be used to send Chico girls entering eighth grade to Tech Trek, a week-long, science and math camp sponsored by American Association of University Women at UC Davis. This year”s camp is June 26 through July 2.
