Helen Roberts passed on July 15, 2009 at her daughter’s home in Kimtu at the age of 76.

She was born Helen Marlene Cress on June 6, 1933, in Oroville, Calif. to William Franklin “Frank” Cress and Anna Margaret Cress.

Helen was a loving mom, an avid reader, a busy gardener, a lucky gambler, a world traveler and a collector of beauty and rarity.

She leaves behind her daughters Claudia Roberts, Michelle (and husband Michael) Markham, and Rhonda Roberts-Bowler, as well as her favorite nephews Rick and Gary Lawton, her much-loved grandchildren Johanna Pike (and partner Chris), Gabriel Markham (and partner Genesis), Heidi Phillips (and husband Tim), Jahsri Roberts-Hardy and Mocean Byer, and the great-grandchildren who were such a joy to her: Elisha, Amicah, Shiri, Bjari, Copper and Valentino.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Anna, brother Robert, sister Anell “Sis” (and husband Jack) Lawton, former husband Ronald Roberts, and life partner John Paulson.

She passed on in ecstatic peace, teaching us all to love more deeply.

Memorial is to be held at the family gravesite in Wyandotte, Calif.
