The Native Cultures Fund, a program of the Humboldt Area Foundation, is pleased to announce a funding opportunity for Native American organizations and individuals working in partnerships with Native artists that produce work of outstanding quality and cultural significance while engaging communities in a process of healing. The geography considered by this California grant program extends from Crescent City to Santa Barbara, from the state’s eastern border to the ocean.

The Community Partnerships with Native Artists initiative provides grants to Native individuals and organizations for theater production, script development, media arts, and the creation of contemporary visual arts and exhibitions. Grants range from $1,000 to $7,500. The application deadline is Monday, Feb. 16.

Since 2000, the Native Cultures Fund has made over $900,000 in grants to 185 community projects in rural Native communities of northern and central California. The Native Cultures Fund is a partnership between Indigenous Peoples, the Humboldt Area Foundation, the Ford Foundation, the James Irvine Foundation and other donors.
