The Garberville-Redway Area Chamber of Commerce invites everyone to join them for the sixth annual Family 4th of July picnic and fireworks display. This event takes place at the Benbow Lake State Recreation Area on Friday, July 4, from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. There will be activities, food, fun and a fantastic fireworks show that will conclude the day ‘s events. Come early and enjoy Benbow Lake, the day ‘s activities, and grand finale: The PyroSpectacular Fireworks Display. Those wishing to make a donation toward the cost of the fireworks can call Dee Way at the Chamber of Commerce, 923-2613, or just send your donation to the Garberville-Redway Chamber of Commerce, P.O. Box 445, Garberville, CA 95542.

The Chamber offers this event as an opportunity for other non-profits to raise funds and this year the Garberville Rotary Club will be serving hotdogs and hamburgers, the Chamber will have pizza and corn, Soroptimist International of the Redwoods will be providing chicken and veggies, and the Our Lady of the Redwoods Catholic Church, SFHS Basketball, and many other groups will also be there providing treats for the crowd. The Chamber is also making available beer, wine, and margaritas for those over 21, and glow sticks

and LED merchandise for all ages.

Parking will be available free outside the event; inside Benbow Lake State Recreation Area parking will be sold prior to the event and will be limited. For those looking to avoid the sometimes-tricky parking situation, a shuttle will be available from Garberville and Redway and new this year, two shuttles will be making return trips after the show.

There will be children ‘s activities.

Come join us for a fun-filled day of swimming, sunbathing, relaxing, and enjoying each other ‘s company that will culminate with a magnificent display of fireworks this 4th of July.

For the safety of all and to keep within the State Parks Guidelines no pets, glass containers, fireworks, alcohol, or drugs will be allowed in the park. Park Rangers, CDF, local fire departments, California Highway Patrol, and other security will be on hand to ensure this is a safe and secure family event.
