The Ventura County Star reports (http://bit.ly/1gyIklJ) the Board of Supervisors this week voted 4-1 to approve the program, which will be run by the County Clerk and Recorder's Office. It will go into effect March 13.
Same-sex and opposite-sex domestic partners 18 and older can register if one registrant works or lives in the county. Registration will cost $30.
Many companies require domestic partners of employees to be registered if they are to receive health insurance benefits.
