South Fork came out in the second quarter and scored six straight points to take their only lead of the game 15-14 with five of the points coming from senior Christian Alatorre. The Crusaders finished the quarter on a 13-3 run scoring eleven of their points from the free throw line as the Cubs had foul trouble throughout the quarter.
In the third quarter the foul troubles only got worse for the hometown Cubs who could not catch a break. The Cubs committed three technical fouls in the first two minutes of the half over frustration of some questionable calls by the officials where the hometown fans were voicing their disapproval. The Cubs were able to cut the lead to eight 34-26 but that was as close as they could get finishing the third down 41-29.
The Cubs pressed heavy in the fourth quarter but were unable to overcome the Crusaders lead losing the game by a final score of 58-39.
