Shawn Robert Blum Braham passed away last month at his home in Fortuna from natural causes. Shawn was born Aug. 13, 1970, in Fortuna, and despite the fact that he only weighed three pounds and survived a complicated birth, it left him with cerebral palsy which would prevent him from ever walking without assistance.   Full Story

Sherman Scott Hensell was born on Nov. 15. 1916, in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, Canada, to Robert Bruce and Rhoda Hensell. He died in Ukiah, Calif., Jan. 7, at age 95. In the course of his life he also lived in Longview, Wash.   Full Story

Michael was originally diagnosed with melanoma cancer in the fall of 2007, but through treatment and perseverance, with the love and support of his family and friends, and by the grace of God he was able to overcome the disease, which was eventually pronounced in remission.   Full Story
