A photo in a recent Redwood Times showed a Christmas tree made out of rubber gloves at Redwoods Rural Health Center in Redway.

The Redwood Times would like to clarify that the green gloves used to create the Christmas tree were from a sample pack that was donated to the health center. This isn’t the type of gloves that staff members use. The caption under the photo said, “This explains the shortage of sterile gloves in the patient exam rooms.” This statement was meant to be comical but staff members at RRHC found it offensive and that it conveyed that their services are not hygienic. Everyone at RRHC prides themselves with providing high quality health care in a safe and sterile environment and sterile gloves are no longer kept in the exam rooms.

The Redwood Times apologizes for any problems created by this photo and caption.
