A Pennsylvania woman charged with killing a man she met through Craigslist told a local newspaper that she has dozens of other victims, too.
Miranda Barbour, 19, requested a jailhouse interview with the Daily Item, so she could come clean about her history.
Barbour was arrested in December for allegedly killing Troy Laferrara with her husband, Elyette Barbour, just three weeks after the newlywed couple married. They set up a meeting with him on Craigslist, and Barbour stabbed Laferrara while her husband held his head back, she told police.
In the interview, she talked about killing Laferrara and also discussed her childhood. Here are some of the things Barbour told the Daily Item:She has killed at least 22 people
Barbour said she isn't sure how many people's she's killed in the last six years.
“When I hit 22, I stopped counting,” she said in the jailhouse interview. She said she's ready to talk to police about the other victims. She said most of the murders happened in Alaska, but she has killed in Texas, North Carolina and California, too.
Sunbury Police Chief Steve Mazzeo said police are aware that Barbour has claimed additional victims, but he can't confirm or deny anything. Authorities are in contact with several other states.
While she claimed she has killed dozens of people, she said LaFerrara was her husband's first victim. She was involved in a satanic cult
Barbour said she joined a satanic cult in Alaska when she was 13. She witnessed her cult's leader shoot a man who owed him money, and the leader encouraged her to shoot him, too. She said she continued to kill after that.
“I knew something was bad inside me, and the satanic beliefs brought it out. I embraced it,” she said in the interview. She only killed bad people
Barbour said all of her victims were “bad people,” so she feels no remorse in killing them.
For example, she said she killed LaFerrara when he agreed to pay her $100 for sex. Barbour lied to him telling him she'd just turned 16.
“He told me that it was OK. If he would have said no, that he wasn't going to go through with the arrangement, I would have let him go,” she said in the interview. She would kill again
Barbour said she's talking about her other victims now because she considered the possibly that she could be freed from jail — something she doesn't want to happen.
“If I were to be released, I would do this again,” she said.
