RENO -- What goes around, comes around.
The Eureka Falcons learned that lesson on Thursday at the Reno Knights baseball tournament against the Redding Rattlers in a 4-1 loss.
During the Bobby Goss Tournament in Cutten last week, the Falcons trumped the Rattlers 7-1. Redding returned the favor handing Eureka a defeat.
While the Falcons' bats were in perfect order tallying nine hits (paced by Andrew Ayers' 3-for-4 effort and David Del Grande's 2-for-4 outing), they couldn't get runners home. Eureka stranded as many batters on base as they had hits.
Redding, on the other hand, took advantage of every opportunity, avenging their previous loss.
The Rattlers quickly took a one-run lead in the second inning, but Eureka was able to respond in the third.
But then came the fourth.
Redding began to find their rhythm against Eureka's Zach O'Hanen, and Garret Barnett knocked in two of his teammates as the Rattlers were able to put three runs on the board.
It was all Redding from that point on.
While they were able to get hits in the ensuing innings, the Falcons couldn't get one that counted against Redding gunslinger Tanner McIntyre. He finished with eight strikeouts while walking only two
Eureka falls to 18-4 and hopes to make its way through the loser's bracket with games against the Damonte Rebels today at 9 a.m. and a 4:30 p.m. matchup with El Dorado Post 119.
