A 35-year-old Garberville man received major injuries in a single-vehicle accident on Friday, Oct. 3, at around noon. He was traveling westbound on Sprowel Creek Road east of Kimtu Road at an excessive speed for the rain and wet roadway.

He lost control of his 1999 Toyota and ran off the north roadway causing the left front of the vehicle to strike a tree. He was wearing his seatbelt. A DUI investigation is pending.
