September 16 is the date when non-seniors and non-disabled riders can ride The Quail Bus on its regular Tuesday trips to Eureka and Fortuna.

According to Supervisor Johanna Rodoni, bus stop sites for The Quail will be located at Southern Humboldt Builder's Supply on Thomas Road in Garberville and at Redwoods Rural Health Center in Redway.

The Quail Bus is capable of carrying 19 passengers and seniors and disabled persons will still have priority, but available seats will be available to the general public at the regular fare of $6 for a round trip to Eureka and $5 for a round trip to Fortuna. Passes at a reduced rate will also be available from the Humboldt Transit Authority. For more information, people can call the HTA at 707-443-0826.

The Quail goes to Eureka on the first and third Tuesday of each month, and to Fortuna on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. The Quail also provides transportation for shopping and appointments in Garberville and Redway on Fridays.
