To the Editor:

The Garberville Lions Club extends its thanks for the successful tree seedling give-away held at the Garberville Farmers Market on June 29. We thank all who took our seedlings with special thanks to Colleen Bingham, Farmers Market manager, for the donated space, Evelyn and Everett King for adding 14 trees to our inventory and expanding our variety, and those who made cash donations for the seedlings. Those donations have been placed in our projects fund, 100% of which goes to youth activities and eye care assistance. More than 50 seedlings were given away and our hope is that all of those will thrive and enhance our environment.

We of the Garberville Lions are enthusiastic about helping our community with service and assisting in funding youth activities and providing eye care assistance. Lions is a non-partisan organization of volunteers whose motto is “We Serve.”

If you have an interest in serving in our community, come sit in on one of our meetings, families welcome. Garberville Lions consists of adult Lions and Student Lions (youths) and meet from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the first and third Mondays of each month at the Garberville Presbyterian Church.
