To the Editor:

As veteran employees of Whale Gulch School, who helped in the birth of the school 34 years ago, it was not easy for us to let go and decide when to retire. But, for both of us, this year was finally the right time to “graduate.”

We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation, love, and thanks to all the wonderful friends, neighbors, parents, former and current students, and staff members who made our retirement party such a memorable event. It was especially fun to relive our shared history with many entertaining stories, old photos, and videos. Were we ever really that young?

Our special thanks goes out to the Lost Coast Marimba Band for providing terrific music. Their dedication song brought tears to our eyes. The lovely cards, gifts, and warm hugs will sustain us as we move on to our next adventures.
