To the Editor:

We have some sad news to share with you. Dr. Joiner, and her growing family, are moving to the Bay Area. We love and appreciate the contributions that Dr. Joiner has made in this community. She will be deeply missed.

We understand that Dr. Joiner’s departure may bring concern to the hearts and minds of our patients. Fortunately, we have an excellent staff, who will be joined by Dr. Edward Rocklin, M.D. on July 9. We will continue to do everything we can to ensure continuity of care for patients and are here to assist you.

Patients who are in need of medical care can call Redwoods Rural at 923-2783 to schedule an appointment with one of our excellent mid-level providers, Marianne Riley, nurse practitioner; Sally Lippitt-Houston, nurse practitioner; and Mandi Battles, physician assistant or with Dr. Rocklin, MD.

Dr. Rocklin has over 25 years of experience as a family practice physician and is knowledgeable about gastroenterology and anti-aging and regenerative medicine. Additionally, he has been a preceptor for Stanford University, UCSF, and UC Davis.

The health center, which grew from within this community, is blessed with a competent and dedicated team. Redwoods Rural is proud of our 36 years of service and grateful that you’ve been with us since 1976. We will continue to provide you with the highest quality care possible and appreciate your support during this transition.

If you have questions or concerns, feel free to contact the executive director, Tina Tvedt, MHA at 923-2783 ext. 336.
