Every three hours someone in this country dies while waiting for an organ transplant. Every 18 minutes another person’s name is added to the list of thousands who are waiting for life saving transplants.

One of those people on that list is an outstanding community member who has been here for 38 years. Howard Phun has given his time and energy to help create our rural health center, Beginnings, and the Mateel Community Center, as well as being a volunteer firefighter on the Telegraph Ridge Fire Dept. Howard has a live donor who is willing to undergo a serious operation to give him part of her liver and help save his life. You too can help save a life by making a donation to the Southern Humboldt Community Credit Union, account #13819, for this expensive operation. During his three years on the transplant list, Howard has been helping fundraise for others who have had transplants and now he needs our help.

If 1,200 people give $250, he will have enough for this procedure. However, any amount you can give will be gratefully received. Thank you for your generosity and compassion.
